Sports Physiotherapist

Job Title: Sport Physiotherapist – Prehab and Preventive care

 

Overview: As a Sports Physiotherapist specializing in prehabilitation and preventive care, you will collaborate with other professionals for optimizing athletic performance and reducing the risk of injuries. You will focus on designing and implementing proactive interventions to enhance athletes’ physical resilience, movement quality, and overall well-being. This position requires expertise in injury prevention strategies, movement assessments, and a strong commitment to promoting health and wellness within the athletic community.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement individualized prehabilitation programs tailored to athletes’ specific needs, sports demands, and injury risk factors.
  • Incorporate exercises, drills, and movement patterns to improve mobility, stability, strength, and neuromuscular control.
  • Conduct  objective and subjective movement assessments and functional tests to identify athletes’ movement patterns, identify areas for improvement, biomechanical imbalances, movement dysfunctions, and areas of potential injury risk.
  • Collaborate with coaches, strength and conditioning professionals, exercise physiologists and sports scientists to develop informed interventions based on assessment findings.
  • Develop and implement injury prevention strategies, including warm-up protocols, mobility routines, and corrective exercises.
  • Collaborate with strength and conditioning coach to work on technique/form, equipment selection, and training volume to minimize the risk of injuries and maximize performance.
  • Monitor athletes’ progress, adjust intervention plans as needed, and facilitate a safe return to sport participation in case of injury.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in physiotherapy/ sport physiotherapy
  • License or registration as a physiotherapist in the applicable jurisdiction.
  • Certification or advanced training in sports physiotherapy, musculoskeletal specialisation, orthopedic rehabilitation, or injury prevention is preferred.
  • Proven experience working with athletes in a sports or clinical setting, preferably specializing in injury prevention and prehabilitation.
  • Strong clinical reasoning skills, excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
