Job Title Sport Analyst – Football

Overview As a sports analyst, you will be responsible for providing in-depth analysis of football games, players, and team performances. Statistical details, video footage, and tactical expertise are all used in this capacity to produce strategic suggestions and actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Game analysis

             Analyse live and recorded football games to identify key performance indicators (KPIs), break down game footage to provide insights on player performance, team tactics, and opposition strategies, and produce detailed match reports and presentations               for the coaching staff.

• Player performance evaluation
  Assess individual player performances using both quantitative and qualitative data, identify strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement, and track player development while providing feedback to coaches.
• Data collection and management
  Collect and organize statistical data from various sources including match events, player metrics, and team statistics, utilize advanced software and tools to analyse data, and maintain databases to ensure data accuracy.
• Tactical analysis
  Analyse team formations, playing styles, and tactical trends, provide strategic recommendations to improve team tactics and game plans, and study opposition teams to prepare for upcoming matches.
• Reporting and communication
  Create and present detailed reports, communicate complex analysis clearly, contribute to strategic planning, stay updated on football analysis trends, conduct research for team development, and collaborate with other analysts to enhance capabilities.

Qualifications

• Education Diploma/Bachelor’s in Data Analytics or Computer Applications or relevant courses.
• Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in football analysis or a related role. Experience with professional or collegiate teams is advantageous.
• Technical skills: Proficiency in data analysis Excel software, preferred skills in programming (e.g., Python, R) and video analysis tools. Familiarity with football analytics platforms.
• Knowledge: Extensive football knowledge in rules, tactics, player development, game analysis, history, and strategic planning.
• Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to present complex data in an accessible way.
• Analytical thinking: Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to analyse large datasets and extract meaningful insights
• Teamwork: Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with coaches and other staff members.
• Detail-oriented with a passion for using data to drive performance enhancement.
